Lidsey oil field

  • Located onshore near Bognor Regis, West Sussex in the Weald Basin
  • The field was discovered by the Lidsey-X1 well drilled by Carless Exploration in 1987
  • The field is contained within a tilted fault block structure, dip closed to the north and fault sealed to the south
  • The oil-bearing reservoir is the Middle Jurassic Great Oolite limestone similar to that of the Humbly Grove and Horndean fields which have been in production since the late 1980s
  • The current well is capable of producing c.40 bopd from the Great Oolite
  • The Kimmeridge interval was tested in this well and found to contain moveable oil
  • Angus Energy (the operator) exercised an option to acquire half of Terrain’s interest in this licence (reducing Terrain's interest to 10%) in return for a cash consideration and carrying Terrain's remaining interest in the licence for the costs associated with a new well drilled in 2017
  • The new horizontal well across the crest of the structure has not produced as predicted and work is ongoing to optimise the production

  1. Angus Energy (Operator) - 60%
  2. Terrain Energy - 10%
  3. Doriemus PLC - 20%
  4. Brockham Capital Limited - 10%
